Job description
Community Partners are supporting a major FTSE 250 organisation undergoing a large scale data transformation. With Azure already in play and a full transition to Microsoft Fabric underway, the business is strengthening its Data Engineering community and seeking a strong mid-level engineer to help accelerate delivery.
You will join an established community of Data Engineers, Architects and Analysts already delivering across 150+ systems, improving pipelines, standards and data quality as the organisation unifies its platforms.
This is not a people management role but you will lead key workstreams , advise teams and collaborate deeply with stakeholders across the business.
Azure to Fabric Migration
- Build, optimise and maintain pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric Data Factory
- Support the migration of data assets into Fabric, system by system
- Identify what can be moved, reused or redesigned from existing platforms
- Build ingestion, transformation and processing pipelines across multiple data sources (JSON, XML, CSV, SQL, APIs, event streams)
- Develop data models and operational layers feeding into semantic models and BI products
- Implement and maintain data quality controls, validation rules and governance requirements
Data Standards & Documentation

Contribute to data dictionaries, catalogues, metadata and mapping of existing systems

Work closely with governance teams to improve standards and best practice Stakeholder Engagement

Work directly with internal partners to understand business problems

Demonstrate ability to ask the right questions, gather requirements and translate into actionable technical work

Collaborate with a broad community of teams across a decentralised organisation
Requirements

3-5 years Data Engineering experience
-
Strong Azure Data Factory background plus experience or appetite for Fabric
-
API work, SQL and non-SQL databases Experience building robust ETL / ELT pipelines

Understanding of data quality, governance and standards

Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and design improvements

Experience with data warehousing, lakehouse or operational data layers What Will Set You Apart
