As a Senior DevOps Engineer at The Scale Factory, you'll:
- Deliver high-impact DevOps, Cloud, and Platform Engineering projects for our growing client base.
- Perform in-depth discovery activities with clients, translating non-technical business requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead workstreams, defining and prioritising work, managing risks, and delegating work to junior colleagues.
- Communicate effectively, both internally and externally with colleagues, clients and third parties to drive growth.
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with emerging trends and certifications.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, We're seeking a talented, passionate Senior AWS DevOps Consultant to join our growing team. To be successful, you'll be both technically excellent and a confident communicator, willing to take on all aspects of a project from discovery to design and implementation. Not done consultancy before or don't tick every box below? Don't worry, we value potential just as much as experience. If you're a senior DevOps or Platform Engineer who's been designing infrastructure and taking lead on implementation we'll want to talk to you., * Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders from C-suite down, both off the cuff and in more formal presentations or report writing.
- Business Savvy: Able to look behind the technical problems and understand the business drivers to change, prioritising accordingly. A proven track record of spearheading successful projects.
- DevOps Mastery: Deep understanding of DevOps principles and how they transform businesses.
- AWS Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and ability to articulate best practices for building secure, scalable platforms.
- Architectural Know-How: Ability to design and implement cloud platforms supporting microservices and containerised workloads.
- CI/CD Pro: Proven experience with tools like GitHub, GitLab, or AWS DevOps Tooling, and expertise in deployment automation/orchestration.
- Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with Virtual Networks, DNS, Gateways, Load Balancers and more.
- Security Expert: Understanding of IAM, WAF, and KMS. Experience implementing best practices for securing data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Bonus points for experience with a compliance framework (ISO27001, PCI-DSS).
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Mastery of Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK or equivalent tools.
- Scripting & Automation: Skills in a scripting language like Python, Ansible, Bash, Groovy, Powershell, or similar. Bonus points if you share your GitHub repo!
Other Nice To Haves
- Azure or Google Cloud Experience: Ability to compare and contrast cloud offerings, especially in a migration scenario.
- People Leadership: Experience managing people, or a desire to move your career in this direction.
- AWS Professional Certification: If you don't already have one, you'll be given time to attain this in your first 3 months.
