Job description

Have you ever wished that you had the opportunity to set the technical direction of a software product & the responsibility to do your own research & make your own technical decisions? If so, this opportunity could be the one for you!

We're looking for a self-driven technologist who enjoys working independently, shape technical strategy, and make a visible impact on a growing company. This role is perfect for someone who values autonomy, and thrives when given the freedom to set direction without micromanagement.

The people within the business spend a lot of time together so it is a very tight-knit team. As such, you will be entering into a sociable environment where professional relationships are key. However it is important to note that you will be one of the few technical people within the organisation so the onus will be on you to take the lead on matters of software development (& general IT infrastructure, to a lesser extent).

This would also be an interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys or has an interest in software architecture. The successful candidate does not need to be experienced at architect level, but the role may touch on those responsibilities, particularly in the longer term when this engineer is likely to have a junior engineer(s) report into them

TLDR: You will be the key person responsible for the migration & day to day maintenance / bug fixing of existing software system & the development of new services / system upgrades. You'll also be introducing / integrating new AI capabilities into the system. Role also has capacity to involve architectural work & may have direct report(s) in the longer term.

Requirements

  • Must have experience (or ability) in C# programming & .NET framework
  • or Blazor highly advantageous
  • Comfort with SQL server or equivalent
  • RESTful APIs
  • Python skillset is a big bonus for data analytics or AI modules
  • React or Angular experience beneficial for modern UI
  • Past examples of implementing AI solutions or innovations is also very interesting (not required), particularly RAG techniques, or anything using Azure Cognitive Services or OpenAI API
