Job description

  • Participate in 4 on 4 off night shifts,
  • Monitor the performance of our access and ISP networks, identifying, fixing and escalating issues to resolution
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve customer-impacting incidents.
  • Support the deployment of new infrastructure, including access Points of Presence (POPs) or data centres (DC)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring tools and operational workflows to enhance network visibility and efficiency.
  • Provide support for our platforms, primarily Linux-based systems deployed both on-premises and in AWS.
  • Carry out standard changes on the network during planned works windows in assistance with the senior noc engineer(s) and or network engineering team
  • Provide support to the field / install / maintenance team(s) with technical support
  • Provide support for the customer service team(s) with technical support
  • Manage outages to resolution keeping the stake holders updated while following the incident management process

Requirements

  • Experience working in a service provider (SP) or ISP environment, or supporting production networks.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and technologies such as BGP, MPLS, and XGS-PON.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux systems and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Scripting or automation experience with Python would be useful
