Job description

For Airbus Defence & Space in Taufkirchen we are looking for a Simulation Engineer - Aerospace Communication (d/f/m)

Mission of the Job

  • You develop solutions for the next generation of Airborne and Space-based mission-critical Communication Systems
  • You contribute to concept studies, design trade-offs and performance validation activities
  • You support data-driven engineering decisions
  • You work with industry-leading simulation environments

Main activities

  • You build up and maintain the simulation environment
  • You propose capability improvements
  • You provide expert know-how and training to development teams related to modelling and simulation problems
  • You design and implement simulation models for aircraft and satellite dynamics as well as physical and data link layer communication models.
  • You collaborate with RF engineers, system architects, and software developers to align simulation with real-world constraints.
  • You plan, implement and execute simulation campaigns,
  • You extract and analyze relevant performance metrics
  • You create related technical documentation
  • You demonstrate simulations and results in front of the team, internal stakeholders, as well as external customers

Requirements

  • You own Academic degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunication, Information technology or related fields
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are required
  • English and German fluently

Experience:

  • You have relevant project experience (min. 1-3 years) within aerospace, defense or telecommunication industry.
  • You have experience with relevant simulation tools, standards, and best practices
  • You have profound experience in scripting or programming languages
  • Extended user experience with Unix-based Systems and virtualization is a plus
  • You have a solid understanding of aeronautical and/or satellite communication systems (architectures, waveform characteristics, frequency bands, antenna types)
  • You have a solid understanding of aircraft and orbital dynamics
  • You are familiar with RF link budgets, modulations, propagation models
  • You have knowledge in data link and network layer concepts, e.g. Multiple access schemes, dynamic networking

Tool or product requirements:

  • Object-oriented programming languages (e.g. C++, Python)
  • Experience with Ansys STK is a strong plus
  • MBSE Tools (DOORS and CAMEO) are a plus, This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
