Job description

You'll be joining the Core Product team building the platform that every deployment runs on. This is deep product engineering, not client-specific work.

You'll own :

  • Python services, APIs and data access layers
  • Shared UI components in React / TypeScript
  • Containerised microservices in Docker + Kubernetes (EKS)
  • Event-driven services using Kafka / RabbitMQ
  • Platform abstractions for ingestion, inference and scheduling
  • High-standards engineering (clean code, CI / CD, reliability, observability)

You'll work closely with AI research, infra and forward-deployed engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with React + TypeScript
  • Backend engineering with FastAPI, Django, Express or Node
  • Hands-on Kubernetes (building and running microservices in production)
  • Experience with AWS (EKS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, networking)
  • Understanding of distributed systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, event-driven patterns)
  • Habit of shipping well-structured code in fast product cycles

Benefits & conditions

They are paying between £90,000 to £110,000 depending on experience, plus equity.

About the company

Techmunity are hiring for an experienced Full Stack Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing industrial AI startup backed by a £9m seed round and led by a team of world-class AI and engineering alumni. They're building a physics-grounded AI copilot used in refineries, petrochemical plants and other energy-intensive facilities. It combines time-series forecasting, physics models and domain-trained language models into one platform that runs close to the plant. This is AI that works in the real world, and has immediate environmental impact at global scale.
