Job description
As a primarily AWS-focused Platform Engineer at Naimuri, you'll be hands-on in designing, building, and supporting secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services. You'll operate at the intersection of platform engineering and cloud architecture-enabling teams to move faster, deploy with confidence, and embrace modern DevSecOps practices.
You'll work in a cross-functional platform capability, collaborating with developers, data, and delivery leads to turn infrastructure into reusable, self-service products. We operate in different cloud environments, so the opportunity to cross skill in platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud will also be available., * Build & Automate: Deliver reusable infrastructure modules and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild to support consistent and secure deployments.
- Platform Ownership: Contribute to the development and refinement of internal AWS Landing Zones, ensuring secure-by-default and policy-driven environments across multiple accounts, whilst expanding your knowledge into the AWS workspace.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve environments using tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.
- Governance & Policy: Implement and maintain IAM roles and policies, Service Control Policies, tagging strategies, and cost control measures.
- Security First: Embed secure design principles into everything you build; support identity and access management, Secrets Manager/KMS integration, secure pipelines and vulnerability management.
- Collaboration & Enablement: Work with delivery teams to support their use of the platform, coach on best practices, and help define golden paths and documentation that lower the barrier to adoption.
- Innovation & Evolution: Stay up to date with AWS capabilities, contribute to capability assessments, and actively suggest improvements or new services that align with company strategy (e.g., enabling AI/ML or hybrid connectivity)., Whilst our Head Office is based in Salford Quays, Manchester, with satellite offices in London and Cheltenham, the location for this role is in, or around the area of Portsmouth. The role would be hybrid working where you can work from home for part of your working week with time on site being based on the needs of your assigned delivery and agreed Ways of Working for your team. Onsite location would be in Portsmouth primarily, and would normally be a maximum of one or two days per week based on specific delivery demand but you would be welcome to spend more days in the office if you preferred. There would be occasional travel to Manchester estimated to be no more than once or twice a year.

- Container Orchestration (Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift, Helm, Kustomize, Docker/Podman)
Experience building and consuming shared infrastructure as code modules in a GitOps-style setup. Ability to troubleshoot cloud-native, micro-service applications, networking, and infrastructure issues.
