Job description

To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our development team in Bern. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing our Transport Management System. Our platform is continuously evolving - we strive to improve both technology and functionality to remain at the forefront of innovation and reliability. You'll work in a bilingual (English/German) environment, collaborating closely with a motivated team focused on delivering a high-quality, scalable software product to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle - from analyzing requirements and designing architecture to development, testing, and maintenance.

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable software solutions and APIs using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and JavaScript.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product Management) to enhance existing applications and build new functionality.

  • Produce high-quality, maintainable code following best practices, patterns, and standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects through root cause analysis and performance optimization.

  • Oversee and refactor existing codebases to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Contribute to system architecture and play a key role in defining future technical direction.

  • Manage and version source code using Git and modern branching strategies.

  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including automated testing and security integration.

  • Mentor junior developers and promote best engineering practices within the team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in .NET-based software development.

  • University degree in computer sciences/engineering or related field.

  • Strong expertise in C# and .Net8+, with proven architectural design skills.

  • Proficient in back-end development with C#, OpenAPI, REST API, and database-driven applications.

  • Experience with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL (database design and optimization).

  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and modern frameworks (Angular) are beneficial.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including Docker, CI/CD, and Kubernetes is considered a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, and cloud architectures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to code quality and performance.

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams toward achieving strategic goals. Fluent in English and German.

Benefits & conditions

  • A key role in a fast-evolving product used across multiple European markets.

  • Opportunity to influence architecture and technical direction.

  • Flexible working conditions and hybrid setup (office in Bern).

  • A collaborative, international team culture that values initiative and clarity.

  • Competitive compensation package.
