Job description
Our OpenShift Virtualization on Z team brings VMs to OpenShift , and accelerates the delivery of applications with a single platform that can manage "mixed workloads" using the same tools and teams. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing and integrating new Core Virtualization features directly into Layered Products such as OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt and Kubernetes). This effort will include working routinely with the QEMU, Libvirt and KubeVirt communities, as well as Partners and other communities and internal teams on upstream contributions and possibly maintainership, as well as downstream integration and maintenance into our products. We tightly collaborate with the RedHat and international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development), the global maintainers of Open-Source communities. What You'll Do:
· Develop Kubernetes based solution for accomplishing Cloud based Virtualization on IBM Z infrastructure
· Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline operations
· Collaborate in code reviews, architectural discussions and contribute to comprehensive technical documentation Required education
Requirements
· Bachelors Computer Science degree, or related fields
· Experience coding with GoLang and Python programming language
· Exposure to Cloud Computing, hypervisor tech stack, Open source software development and lifecycle
· Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platform like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Linux operating system
Preferred Qualifications:
· Desire to write high quality code in GoLang is preferred.
· Previous contributions to open source projects
· Exposure to onboarding applications onto the Cloud and implementing CI/CD
