Job description
As Quantum Networking Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, and validate quantum networking architectures based on AQLS' hardware platforms (PPS-DG photon-pair sources, quantum memories, etc.). You bridge experimental quantum optics, telecommunications, and network-level engineering. Your work enables us to deploy quantum communication infrastructure, operate quantum networking testbeds, and quantum repeater demonstrators., Quantum System Architecture
-
Design system architectures combining entangled photon sources, quantum memories, detectors, optical switches, and classical sync/control.
-
Develop interface and protocol specifications for quantum networking modules (e.g., entanglement swapping, quantum state synchronization, heralding logic). Experimental & Networking System Integration
-
Integrate AQLS hardware into network environments.
-
Perform end-to-end network-level performance characterization.
-
Develop control logic and orchestration software for quantum nodes (Python).
Requirements
-
MSc or PhD in Physics, Photonics, Electrical / Quantum Engineering.
-
Hands-on experience in quantum optics with single photons.
-
Experience with timing electronics (TDCs, FPGAs, synchronization).
-
Proficiency in Python for experimental control.
-
Strong system-engineering mindset (requirements, testing, debugging). Nice to Have
-
Experience with entanglement-based quantum communication.
-
Exposure to relevant telecom network standards.
-
Experience working in industry-academia collaborations.
-
Excellent communication skills in English.
