Job description
As a Senior Java Engineer (gn), you will be part of our engineering team, contributing to the further development of our Order Management System based on Fluent Commerce. Your main responsibility will be the evolution of the workflow engine and order orchestration logic that powers our D2C business.
You will work in a modern, event-driven and cloud-native architecture and help us build scalable, high-performance services for our ESN & More Nutrition brands. If you enjoy clean code, solid architectures and taking ownership of complex systems with real business impact, this role is for you.
Your mission
- You continuously optimize and enhance our OMS and workflow engine using modern Java-based architectures
- You design and implement workflows, rules and integrations within Fluent Commerce, ensuring reliable and scalable order orchestration
- You design and implement APIs, primarily using GraphQL, complemented by REST
- You collaborate closely with Product, DevOps and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions end to end
- You actively contribute to architectural and technical decisions and drive best practices within the team
- You ensure high code quality through peer reviews, testing and clean architecture principles
- You share your knowledge and support the growth of other engineers
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software development?, * You have several years of hands-on experience in full stack software development with strong Java skills
- You have solid knowledge of microservices architectures and distributed, event-driven systems
- You are experienced in API design, especially GraphQL (schema design, performance, maintainability)
- You are familiar with cloud-native development, ideally within the AWS ecosystem
- You have experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code
- You are comfortable working with container technologies such as Docker
- Experience with Fluent Commerce is a strong plus, especially in the area of workflows, rulesets and platform integrations
- Experience with Order Management Systems or e-commerce platforms is highly desirable
- Knowledge of PHP (Symfony or Laravel) is a plus to understand upstream and downstream systems, adjacent processes, and to support our primary backend stack when needed.
- You work in an agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and value collaboration, peer reviews and continuous improvement
- You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken; German is a plus
- You have on-call availability and willingness to travel for tech days when needed
