Server Administrator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our servers and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in server management, system architecture, security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies. Key Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers. * Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability. * Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities. * Perform system backups and recovery. * Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other server roles. * Maintain system security through access controls, firewalls, and antivirus. * Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to servers. * Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. * Collaborate with network administrators and security teams to ensure high availability and secure infrastructure. *

Provide technical support and guidance to end users and junior IT staff. Required Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). * 3+ years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role. * Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux). * Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V). * Familiarity with backup and recovery software and strategies. * Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.). * Solid understanding of networking fundamentals. Preferred Qualifications: * Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator). * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds). * Knowledge of ITIL practices and ticketing systems.
