Plexus is partnering with a long-standing DeFi protocol building a next-generation trading platform. They're pioneering a new model for automated strategies and are now looking for a Senior DeFi Backend Engineer to help build the core systems powering it. You'll join a highly technical team working across general backend systems engineering, API development, and performance optimisation for arbitrage bots and more. Responsibilities * Design and build core backend services powering the next-generation DeFi trading platform, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. * Develop and optimise high-performance APIs that interact with on-chain data, automated strategies, and internal trading engines. * Collaborate on arbitrage and execution systems, contributing to backend logic, routing flows, and performance-critical components. * Work closely with the engineering team to improve system architecture, optimise latency, and ensure smooth integration between backend, bots, and DeFi protocol components. Requirements * 3+ years' experience with backend Python: Including async systems, data pipelines, or protocol-level integrations. * 1+ year of recent Rust experience: With the ability to read, modify, and contribute to Rust-based components. * DevOps: Ideally with Docker experience. * Background in DeFi: Having worked at a DeFi company or shipped meaningful DeFi projects (AMMs, bots, indexers, trading systems, or protocol integrations).
