Back End Engineer

We're hiring a talented Back End Engineer to join a fast-growing, product-led technology business undergoing major platform transformation. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Back End Engineer to build highly scalable systems that power modern customer and retailer experiences. As a Back End Engineer, you'll work in a collaborative engineering team where your ideas are valued and your impact is real. This Back End Engineer role gives you exposure to cloud-native architecture, microservices and large-scale data platforms in a fast-paced, Agile environment. What you'll be doing as a Back End Engineer:

• Designing and building highly scalable backend services
• Owning services from build through to deployment and optimisation
• Working closely with Product, Design and commercial teams
• Driving improvements in architecture, tooling and development practices
• Contributing through code reviews, pair programming and technical discussions
• Building and deploying services on AWS using cloud-native tools and services Tech environment: Python, FastAPI, Django, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, GitHub, Helm

• Strong commercial experience building backend systems in Python
• Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services
• Experience working with cloud-native or microservice architectures
• Solid knowledge of databases, OO design, data structures and SOLID principles
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
