Job description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java Engineer to work for our client within the technology sector. This is a 6-month contract and will be a hybrid role based in Telford.

Our client is looking for Java Engineers to join the CORE Modernisation portfolio team. Our ideal candidate would be working as part of Scrum teams comprised of Java Engineers, Front End Developers and QEs to modernise our end clients legacy services., * Develop and maintain Java-based applications and microservices.

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team in an Agile environment.
  • Participate in all stages of software delivery, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Engage with stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Ensure quality-driven development and adaptability to context switch.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and team engagement skills.
  • Quality-driven and adaptable.
  • Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills.
  • Ability to work within a team under the guidance of a Technical Lead.
  • More senior grades - Proven leadership and coaching skills.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Java, Spring Boot, Junit

Optional Technical Skills:

  • JPA, Kibana, Maven, Mockito, AWS, GitLab, Helm, OpenAPI, SQL, Shell Scripting

Working Environment:
