Job description

They're now looking to expand their specialist team with a Senior OT Cyber Security Consultant, someone who understands how industrial systems work - and more importantly, how to secure them.

Your Role

This is a client-facing consulting position focused on safeguarding operational environments - think control systems, remote access, and critical automation. You'll work across a variety of industries to design, advise, and deliver real-world cyber solutions for operational networks.

Day-to-day, you could be:

  • Carrying out risk assessments on OT environments (e.g., SCADA, PLCs, DCS)
  • Helping clients build or improve their cyber security strategies and operating models
  • Designing network architecture and remote access controls suited to legacy systems
  • Guiding clients through frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, CAF, ISO 27001
  • Writing and reviewing technical policies, standards, and procedures
  • Translating complex technical challenges into clear, actionable plans
  • Supporting the delivery of wider cyber transformation programmes

Requirements

Are you a cyber security expert with hands-on experience protecting industrial systems? We're working with a fast-growing UK-based consultancy that is delivering major security programmes for organisations operating in high-risk, high-impact sectors - including energy, utilities, and manufacturing., We're after someone who blends technical expertise with strong communication and consulting skills. You don't need to be from a pure consultancy background, but you must be confident engaging with stakeholders and delivering structured solutions.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A solid background in cyber security, with a focus on OT environments
  • Familiarity with industrial systems like PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, etc.
  • Awareness of the cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks in industrial sectors
  • Experience designing or assessing network architectures and access control for OT
  • Working knowledge of security standards (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001, CAF, etc.)
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills - policies, assessments, risk analysis
  • Experience working in (or with) sectors like energy, transport, water, or manufacturing
  • Experience with governance, compliance and risk within cyber security.
