Requirements

Introduction Our client is a prime contractor and major supplier to the U.K. Ministry of Defence and has developed strong capabilities in mission systems integration in defence, national security and commercial markets. This role will be managing and designing high level architecture and for defence systems, creating & verifying the FPGA design requirements, creating the documentation for Hardware & firmware. Experience of FPGA design and architecture along with coding skills in VHDL or Embedded C are essential elements, This is an urgent requirement with the aim of starting someone as soon as possible. Working Patterns Onsite in the Essex Area. Key responsibilities Create and manage architectures for Digital Electronics and firmware (mainly FPGAs) within Defence. Understand, decompose and verify Design requirements. Create FPGA design using VHDL and embedded C. Define and perform unit level and sub system level testing for embedded firmware. Create design documents (HW +Firmware). Create Firmware Simulation Test Reports. Create Timing and Power Analysis Reports. Skills & experience Experience creating top level Design architectures within a Defence environment. Coding experience in VHDL or Embedded C. Experience testing and verifying requirements. Experience in working with DSP, Micro, Memory devices, ADCs, DACs, Power supply. Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies. Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data. Desirable Skills: Experience using the Vivado and Vitis design tools, or equivalent. Experience working with the Xilinx chip family. Experience delivering embedded firmware as part of a product. Working with Model Based System Engineering tools such as Matlab/Simulink.
