Software Development Manager / Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Services Engineer to join our Estates and Facilities team. In this role, you will ensure that all mechanical plant and equipment across a diverse property portfolio are safe, reliable, and compliant with statutory requirements. You'll play a key part in maintaining high standards for planned maintenance and inspections, while supporting day-to-day operations and collaborating with colleagues on estate-wide activities., * Oversee mechanical engineering works within your designated area, supporting other zones as needed.

• Prioritise and manage reactive and planned maintenance requests, liaising with departments to agree on specific works.
• Ensure statutory maintenance is completed on time (e.g., pressure systems, boiler servicing, LEVs) and maintain accurate records.
• Issue instructions for maintenance works to internal teams or external contractors, ensuring compliance with legislation, health and safety standards, and organisational procedures.
• Manage technical staff and contractors, inspecting works for quality, specification, and budget adherence.
• Deliver minor project works, including preparing design briefs, specifications, tender documents, and supervising installations through to commissioning.
• Process orders and invoices, ensuring value for money and adherence to budgetary controls.
• Maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders to support departmental operations.
• Assist in the development and management of planned preventative maintenance programmes for all mechanical systems.
• Support the implementation and management of maintenance contracts for systems such as BMS, fume cupboards, gas boilers, and specialist installations.
