(Senior) Software Engineer (DevOps) 1

By joining the Regulatory and NBAP (New Business Approval) Operations team, you will play a key role in the design, build and support of regulatory components and solutions in RWEST's ETRM system OpenLink Endur, to ensure our compliance with energy trading regulations. As a Software Developer you will be responsible for developing the solutions in close collaboration with the business users and with the support of a great IT team.

Responsibilities

• Work in an agile model and take responsibility for business critical applications and processes in the Regulatory and NBAP Operations Team.
• Learn about energy/commodity trading covering multiple jurisdictions globally and the regulatory obligations applicable to RWEST.
• Interact closely with teams across IT and the business (e.g. Risk, Back Office, Front Office) to understand new regulatory requirements, evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Contribute to building high quality software and processes by implementing robust, efficient solutions.
• Communicate progress to stakeholders, end users and to the team.
• Think creatively to ensure immediate business goals are satisfied while also achieving long term success of the solution. Continuously seek improvement opportunities and ways to reduce technical debt.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure RWEST remains compliant and supportive of new trading opportunities.

• Solid experience in Java/JVS and SQL.
• Knowledge of Endur or similar ETRM systems.
• Self starter with strong analytical skills and a track record of complex problem solving. High degree of personal commitment, motivation and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently with resilience to perform in a dynamic and challenging business environment.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and understand technical and business reasoning.
• Experience with relational and document databases.
• Good knowledge of software development best practice, including Continuous Integration.

• Understanding of energy trading & regulations.
• Experience in Endur configuration, development and trade modelling.
• Practical experience using Agile methodologies.
• Experience with AWS / Cloud technologies.
