Job description
In the role of Architect for Social Infrastructure projects , we'll count on you to:
- Have recent experience working on diverse and complex social infrastructure projects (including health, education and science/technology) and/ data centre projects.
- Lead aspect of the planning and detailing of architectural projects for architectural projects through all stages of design, while under the supervision of a Project Lead/ Project Manager
- Support the development and maintenance of project documentation, including drawings, specifications and reports.
- Facilitate and lead owner/clients, internal and stakeholder meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager.
- Good working knowledge and experience within the UK planning and building regulations systems.
- Ensure work complies with relevant codes, standards and regulations (i.e. UK Building Regulations, Standards and Healthcare Guidance)
- Participate in QA/QC and technical reviews.
- Perform other duties as needed.
You'll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors in the UK and Europe.
Requirements
- Registered Architect- ARB
- A minimum of 3-5 years practical and industry experience in the UK (i.e. social infrastructure projects (including health, science and technology, education and community projects) and/ or data centre projects)
- Passion for creativity and design
- Excellent collaboration skills, good self-organisation and strong ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective facilitation with client and multidisciplinary team
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge and experience applying relevant codes, standards and regulations in design and planning.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Intermediate level knowledge and experience with design software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office
- Understanding of computational and parametric design
- Graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is necessary., * Master's degree in architecture
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max but not required
- Rhino and Grasshopper experience
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design., * Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- 3+ years' experience of working with Data Centre projects is desirable.
- Registered Architect
- Understanding and experience of various building contracts
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
- Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills
