Build and Test Engineer

An established global tech company is hiring an Embedded Build and Test Engineer to support its embedded software team in Cambridge. The role focuses on improving the build and test infrastructure for Linux-based media systems used worldwide.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain automated build and test pipelines for embedded products
• Improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Track and report on test results and quality metrics
• Work with development teams to resolve build, integration, and deployment issues
• Support release planning and prioritisation alongside product and engineering leads

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar discipline
• 5+ years' experience in a professional software or embedded environment
• Practical knowledge of Yocto or Open Embedded
• Confident with Linux systems and scripting in Python, JavaScript and Bash/Shell
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional team

Nice to have

• Background in digital video, multimedia, or networked embedded systems
• Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, or similar cloud platforms
• Familiarity with GitHub, Gerrit, or other code review tools
