Job description
We are working with a large, well-established manufacturing business to recruit a PLC Systems Engineer for a key production site in Essex. This is a permanent role offering long-term stability and the opportunity to take ownership of site-wide automation and control systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining, improving, and developing PLC-based systems within a heavy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, commission, and maintain PLC systems
- Fault-find and resolve PLC hardware and software issues
- Optimise automation systems to improve plant efficiency and reliability
- Support automation upgrades, modifications, and CAPEX projects
- Manage change control and risk-based assessments for PLC systems
- Support and develop engineers and technicians
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and safe systems of work
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or similar
- Strong PLC programming experience using Ladder Logic
- Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
- Knowledge of SCADA, HMI systems, drives, and industrial networking
- Background in heavy manufacturing, process, or industrial environments
