Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's IT team. They will support the delivery and operation of modern, secure, and scalable infrastructure services. This role will contribute to the evolution of our workplace and cloud environments, supporting both ongoing operations and future transformation initiatives.

Overview

You will play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure and workplace projects, supporting hybrid environments and contributing to the adoption of modern technologies that enhance security, resilience, and productivity.

This is a hands-on technical role, suited to someone comfortable working across both on-premise and cloud platforms. You will be involved in project delivery, complex issue resolution, automation, and continuous service improvement, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to the delivery of cloud and workplace transformation initiatives.
  • Provide technical ownership and support across hybrid infrastructure environments, including cloud-based and on-premise systems.
  • Administer and improve virtual desktop, server, and endpoint environments.
  • Support core infrastructure services such as virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage and troubleshoot networking, connectivity, and security technologies.
  • Implement and maintain identity, access management, and security controls.
  • Support productivity and collaboration platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and user experience.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Act as a senior escalation point, providing third-line support and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to help shape future infrastructure and workplace strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Microsoft certifications.
  • Proven experience in a senior infrastructure or workplace engineering role.
  • Strong background supporting cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Good understanding of identity, security, and compliance principles.
  • Experience with automation or scripting to support infrastructure operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, user-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Any other relevant industry or vendor certifications.
  • Experience working in a client-facing or service-led environment.
