Senior UX Designer

Location: Cambridge, UK - Hybrid (This position can accommodate flexible working options. However, candidates must be based, or be willing to relocate, within a comfortable commuting distance of our Cambridge office to attend onsite as required.)

Want to lead the design of exceptional player-facing digital experiences across the RuneScape ecosystem?

As a Senior UX Designer within Creative Services, you'll help shape how players discover, access, and engage with our games and services across web, account, and launcher touchpoints. Embedded within Player Experience teams, you'll be a key contributor to Jagex's design standards-crafting experiences that are cohesive, accessible, performant, and aligned with our player-first principles. You'll blend creativity with technical awareness, designing with empathy while understanding the realities of modern responsive frameworks and digital systems.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and delivering end-to-end player experiences across websites, account flows, and our game launcher.
• Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Creative teams to translate business goals and player insights into intuitive, cohesive user journeys.
• Championing accessibility and performance to ensure all designs are inclusive, scalable, and optimised across devices and markets.
• Contributing to and evolving design systems and component libraries that drive consistency, speed, and quality.
• Using data and experimentation-analytics, player feedback, usability testing-to iterate and improve designs.
• Creating high-quality design and prototype outputs using modern tools such as Figma and Framer.
• Mentoring and collaborating with designers to elevate craft, share best practices, and promote consistent standards.
• Advocating for the player across all projects, ensuring decisions align with our mission to deliver player-first experiences.

Do you have experience in React?, * Proven experience designing for web platforms or complex digital ecosystems.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred design and responsive web interfaces across multiple devices.
• Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Framer) and strong understanding of accessibility and performance principles.
• Experience working collaboratively with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver cohesive experiences.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design rationale to creative and technical stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to or managing design systems and component libraries.
• Awareness of front-end technologies (e.g., React) and how technical constraints influence design decisions.
• Familiarity with player or customer journey design, particularly acquisition and onboarding flows.
• Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) and motion tools (e.g., After Effects).
