Job description

They are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join their growing web team based out of Wolverhampton offices, and play a key role in the ongoing development of a custom, business-critical in-house platform. This system supports essential day-to-day operations and is used across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices by both internal teams and third-party users. As a PHP Developer, you'll work closely with other developers and stakeholders, taking ownership of features and improvements while helping to build scalable, reliable software that makes a real impact on the business. Core responsibilities:

  • Developing and enhancing a bespoke in-house software platform
  • Building clean, scalable solutions using PHP and Laravel
  • Working with modern stacks including TALL (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire) and LAMP
  • Ensuring applications perform well across mobile and tablet devices
  • Collaborating with internal teams and integrating with external systems

Requirements

  • Commercial experience as a PHP Developer
  • Strong PHP skills with hands-on experience using Laravel and Livewire
  • Experience working with TALL and/or LAMP stacks
  • Understanding of test-driven development (PHPUnit, feature testing)
  • Experience managing Linux-based servers and MySQL databases (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
  • Comfortable managing tasks using tools such as JIRA
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a team, * PHP Developer, Web Developer, Laravel, Lamp
