Our client, a leading organisation within the IT services sector, is hiring a Senior IT Support Engineer to provide high-level technical support across a diverse customer environment. This role offers the opportunity to act as a senior escalation point, contribute to service improvement, and support the delivery of reliable, secure IT services.
This is a hands-on role combining advanced troubleshooting with customer engagement, working across modern workplace, infrastructure, and cloud technologies.
What you'll do
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex 2nd and 3rd line support issues
- Diagnose and resolve incidents across Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and security platforms
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
- Deliver technical changes, upgrades, and minor project work in line with best practice
- Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge articles, and support handovers
- Support out-of-hours work on a rota basis, including occasional evenings and weekends
You'll work closely with service delivery, project teams, and customers to ensure a high-quality support experience and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in a senior IT support or infrastructure support role
- Proven troubleshooting skills across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, and Active Directory
- Experience supporting virtualised environments (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Solid understanding of networking, backup, and security fundamentals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users
