• Rate: £65 per hour (via Umbrella)

About the Role

This is a hands-on role requiring proactive design and development of new and evolving software tools and architectures for future products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software tools and architectures for Air Defence Systems.
• Work across the entire software development life cycle, from requirements to integration and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain development momentum.
• Explore and implement new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong background in software engineering and system-wide impact.
• 6+ years' experience in Java development.
• Experience in other languages such as Ada.
• Knowledge of DDS Middleware and Real Time Operating Systems.
• Familiarity with standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508.
