Job description
As a skilled 5G Software Engineer, you will joining the 5G RAN Integration team. You will be responsible for deploying, integrating, and validating 5G Stack and PHY software releases within our 5G RAN (Radio Access Network) testbed environment. This role involves rigorous testing, characterization, and automation to ensure the robustness and performance of 5G software across various release cycles. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge 5G technologies in a collaborative, innovative environment, with exposure to advanced RAN test infrastructure and real-world deployment scenarios., Software Deployment & Integration
- Deploy and integrate various 5G RAN software components including PHY and protocol stack layers (L1/L2/L3) into the test environment.
- Collaborate with internal software teams to ensure seamless integration across software releases.
Testing & Benchmarking
- Perform functional and performance testing on integrated 5G RAN software.
- Benchmark and characterize different software releases to evaluate key KPIs such as throughput, latency, and stability.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash to streamline testing, deployment, and reporting processes.
Test Tool Utilization
- Use end-to-end test tools and UE emulators to simulate network scenarios and validate 5G RAN behaviour.
- Issue Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Debug integration issues in collaboration with software developers and system engineers.
- Analyse logs and system behaviour to identify root causes and suggest corrective actions., You will be part of one the fastest-growing start-ups in Spain with global reach along getting into the challenging world of New Space & Telecommunication.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience with 5G RAN software deployment and integration.
- Strong working knowledge of 5G PHY, MAC, RLC, and higher protocol stack layers.
- Proficiency with Linux-based environments and command-line tools.
- Experience using Python and Bash scripting for automation and test harnesses.
- Hands-on experience with UE emulators, traffic generators, or similar 5G testing tools.
- Good understanding of various types of RF front-ends and SDR systems such as USRP as well as fundamentals of radio transmission and radio channels.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with 3GPP standards and open RAN architectures (e.g., O-RAN).
- Familiarity with continuous integration frameworks, DevOps practices and git
- Working knowledge of containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex systems.
