Job description

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within the Data Team, responsible for comprehensively understanding business needs and translating them into actionable deliverables. In this role, you will integrate diverse data sources and consolidate them into a unified platform. With a collaborative, team-first approach, you will assist and empower teams involved in processes and operations, with a strong emphasis on security and compliance.

You will work with technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, and Kafka, and possess extensive knowledge of SQL and Python for both operational and analytical purposes. You will collaborate closely with team members to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and timely, thereby supporting the organization´s data-driven decision-making processes.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

  • Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models, scalable pipelines using modern orchestration tools.

  • Manage batch and real-time streaming pipelines to transform raw data into a usable format by applying data cleansing, aggregation, filtering, and enrichment techniques.

  • Optimize data pipelines and data processing workflows for performance, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design.

  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.

  • Ensure that internal processes are secured, compliant, and meet organizational standards.

  • Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.

  • Create custom software components and analytics applications.

  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

Requirements

A bachelor´s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field; master´s degree preferred.

  • At least five years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar role.

  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and data analysis.

  • Experience with DBT, Azure, Snowflake, Power BI, and Apache Airflow.

  • Ability to design, build, and deploy data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support AI, ML, and BI, incorporating data modeling best practices for BI, ML, or AI.

  • Experience in programming languages such as SQL and Python.

  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).

  • Expert problem-solving skills, including debugging skills, allowing the determination of sources of issues in unfamiliar code or systems, and the ability to recognize and solve repetitive problems.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Understanding of the online acquisition activities and their impact on eCommerce sites.

  • Understanding of Content Management Systems, workflows and optimizations.

  • Strong knowledge in SEO optimization.

  • Having been exposed or worked with streaming data with Kafka.
