Job description
Join us as a Founding Engineer contributing directly to the architecture, design, and development of our marketplace platform. Youll work across the full stack, delivering user-facing features and backend systems that streamline procurement for healthcare organisations.
- Develop and enhance a WordPress/WooCommerce-based marketplace platform.
- Build custom features including quote requests, supplier matching, and order workflow management.
- Integrate AI capabilities (visual search, pricing optimisation) into user experiences.
- Develop admin dashboards for analytics, compliance monitoring, and supplier management.
- Implement secure payment systems and escrow functionalities.
- Develop and maintain API integrations with third-party services (payments, compliance verification).
- Optimise platform performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with the CTO on technical architecture, design, and strategy.
Requirements

3+ years of full-stack development experience.

Strong PHP proficiency with professional WordPress/WooCommerce development experience.

Frontend skills using JavaScript, React, or other modern frameworks.

Database design and optimisation experience (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.

Strong understanding of secure coding practices and GDPR compliance.

Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, and take ownership of tasks.

Experience building marketplace or e-commerce platforms.

Payment gateway integration experience (Stripe, PayPal).

Experience developing B2B or enterprise-level software.

Familiarity with YITH or similar WooCommerce plugins.

Exposure to healthcare or other regulated industries.

DevOps skills (AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
