Job description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our team in Salford, United Kingdom. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization's database systems to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Ensuring seamless database operations across various environments.
- Rigorous performance testing and SQL script approval to maintain our high standards.
- Keeping database availability and performance within top-tier SLAs.
- Proactively monitoring and optimising server performance.
- Resolving complex database challenges independently and implementing upgrades.
- Maintaining rigorous database access control and ensuring robust backup operations.
- Engaging in strategic capacity and architecture planning.
- Addressing Service Desk issues with effective data solutions.
- Advising on appropriate database technologies for future projects.
- Conducting disaster recovery tests to ensure our resilience.
- Out of hours support via a DBA team rota.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, * Strong analytical ability to dissect complex processes.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong communication and the capacity to see beyond the immediate scope.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in fast-paced settings.
- Self-motivation with a detail-oriented approach and a collaborative spirit.
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience administering databases.
- SQL Server Clustering, Replication and High Availability.
- Proven track record in SQL Server database performance tuning.
- Experience in upgrading and migrating legacy systems.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
