Explore the possibilities and discover your next career move., As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the security architecture of complex IT and OT systems on board modern naval ships. You will create essential deliverables such as security concepts, specifications, and functional documentation, directly influencing the safety and reliability of critical systems.
Working alongside experts across different security domains, you will ensure all solutions meet strict international standards and the specific requirements of military projects. You will assess suppliers, evaluate technical proposals, and participate in design reviews, testing, and verification activities.
Your work ensures these high-tech systems are designed and integrated securely, contributing to the protection, operational readiness, and global impact of naval ships that play a key role in international safety and stability.
What youll do
- Develop security deliverables, including specifications, security concepts, and functional documentation.
- Collaborate with IT, OT, physical security, and emissions protection experts.
- Contribute to test and verification plans for security measures.
- Conduct design checks and reviews to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
- Technically assess suppliers and incoming proposals.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in IT, Industrial Automation, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with IT or OT systems in complex technical environments.
- Deep knowledge of network architectures, protocols, system hardening, and data encryption.
- Experience with cybersecurity standards such as ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance for work on defense-related naval projects.
