Job description

You will collaborate with Product teams, Frontend Engineers and technical leaders to design and deliver APIs and services that meet high standards and regulatory expectations. From technical design to implementation and operational support, you will play a key role in ensuring quality and performance., Here's a taste of what you will be doing as a Backend Engineer (C# Node Python) at Nottingham Building Society:

  • Build and Maintain Services - Design, develop and support backend services using Node.js, Python and C#.
  • Create Robust APIs - Deliver well-structured APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
  • Write Quality Code - Produce clean, testable and maintainable code that meets agreed engineering standards.
  • Shape Technical Solutions - Contribute to design discussions and help define scalable, secure solutions.
  • Ensure Service Reliability - Maintain security, resilience and performance across all backend services.
  • Support Operations - Investigate and resolve production incidents while improving service health.
  • Champion Best Practices - Participate in code reviews, share feedback and enhance CI/CD delivery pipelines.
  • Collaborate and Share Knowledge - Work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software deployment?, We are looking for someone who takes pride in code quality, service health and continuous improvement, contributing to a culture of strong engineering discipline and practical delivery., * Strong Engineering Foundations - Solid understanding of backend principles and best practices.

  • Hands-On Technical Skills - Experience with Node.js, Python and/or C# in production environments.
  • API and Integration Expertise - Skilled in API design, data modelling and service integration.
  • Cloud and Deployment Knowledge - Familiar with cloud architectures and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Security and Performance Awareness - Committed to building secure, reliable and performant systems.
  • Problem-Solving Ability - Comfortable troubleshooting across code, infrastructure and integrations.
  • Effective Communication - Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Adaptable and Collaborative - Works well in Agile environments, embraces feedback and continuous improvement.
