Job description
As a Design Engineer at ORCA, you'll play a key role in the design and development of advanced hyperbaric systems, contributing from concept through to production. Reporting to our Technical Director, this is a full-time, permanent position that offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects within a specialist field. The role will either be based in Aberdeen, Scotland or Preston, England., * Design and develop concept and production 3D CAD models of various products.
- Generate detailed production and assembly drawings to industry standards.
- Provide engineering support to the production department, delivering creative and practical solutions to design or manufacturing challenges.
- Ensure Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and MRP systems are accurately followed throughout product development.
- Carry out engineering calculations to validate design integrity and performance.
- Produce piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and associated documentation as required.
- Contribute to ongoing innovation and improvement of system designs.
- Occasional travel for site visits, supplier meetings, and project reviews.
Requirements
Are you passionate about working as part of a high-performing team? Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in the diving industry?, * HNC/HND or Degree in Design Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks / Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Knowledge of pressure vessels or gas/fluid systems (desirable but not essential).
