Job description

As a Design Engineer at ORCA, you'll play a key role in the design and development of advanced hyperbaric systems, contributing from concept through to production. Reporting to our Technical Director, this is a full-time, permanent position that offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects within a specialist field. The role will either be based in Aberdeen, Scotland or Preston, England., * Design and develop concept and production 3D CAD models of various products.

  • Generate detailed production and assembly drawings to industry standards.
  • Provide engineering support to the production department, delivering creative and practical solutions to design or manufacturing challenges.
  • Ensure Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and MRP systems are accurately followed throughout product development.
  • Carry out engineering calculations to validate design integrity and performance.
  • Produce piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and associated documentation as required.
  • Contribute to ongoing innovation and improvement of system designs.
  • Occasional travel for site visits, supplier meetings, and project reviews.

Requirements

Are you passionate about working as part of a high-performing team? Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in the diving industry?, * HNC/HND or Degree in Design Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks / Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels or gas/fluid systems (desirable but not essential).
