This exciting role offers the opportunity to build and enhance enterprise-scale software applications used to create games and to collaborate with game teams across the entire company on popular titles including FC, Apex, Madden, Battlefield, NHL, Skate, and more. You will work on complex, high-scale services that support a broad range of game development workflows across EA, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and seamless integration with existing pipelines. Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager, you will:
- Contribute to service architecture, component design, and implementation of new features, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with modern engineering standards.
- Work closely with engineering and product leads to gather requirements from teams across EA's engineering and product organizations.
- Evaluate build-vs-buy options and contribute to technical assessments for integrating third-party or open-source technologies.
- Implement comprehensive testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and production-readiness practices to ensure resilient and repeatable deployments.
- Participate in code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to design discussions.
- Ensure the stability, performance, and maintainability of services in production environments.
- Mentor other engineers and collaborate on solutions that minimize manual support.
- Participate in a periodic production support rotation after onboarding, focusing on diagnosing issues, improving reliability, and strengthening automation to reduce manual intervention.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing enterprise-level solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with source control systems (e.g., Git), including branching and merging strategies.
- 5+ years of experience with SDLC/ALM tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Artifactory, Jenkins).
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins).
- 5+ years of experience building services and web applications using .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
- 4+ years of experience working with relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based services (Azure preferred), including monitoring, scaling, configuration, and automation.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Nice To Have
- Familiarity with automation tools (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet).
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Azure Service Fabric.
- Cloud Certifications in Azure (preferred) or AWS.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week working from our office in Madrid.
