Senior Software Engineer - Java - Security

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a passion for all things security.

Our team is Internal Access Tooling, in the Security squad. We build custom solutions for managing and monitoring access to Wise's internal applications. Our goal is to provide efficient, segregated and auditable access to all operational tooling.

How we work

We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We're looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the platform tribe., * Working closely with product and platform engineers, as well as governance specialists, to find new ways of improving our access controls

• Making access management seamless by providing reliable custom tooling and proactive, easy-to-use solutions
• Designing and building new approaches to improving the overall security posture of Wise
• Mentoring junior engineers and helping the team to grow

As we grow, we also expand on internal tooling in our backoffice. We need to sustain this growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We're looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence., We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. • Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, security concepts to other audiences
• Readiness to move fast and adapt quickly to change
• Experience with a microservice architecture
• Solid Java 17 plus knowledge
• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
• You are security-conscious, security-literate and security-driven
