Job description

As Senior Data Platform Architect, you are responsible for designing and leading Connex's enterprise data platform, including the design and ownership of the enterprise data warehouse. You translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable data models and integrations that power analytics, reporting and future AI/ML use cases.

You work hands-on at the core of our data landscape, with TimeXtender as the orchestration layer and Azure-based data warehousing. From data ingestion to semantic models, you own the architecture end-to-end.

You collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers and analytics users, ensuring that Connex's data is reliable, traceable and ready for growth.

In this role, you directly contribute to Connex's success and scalability. Stay curious, take ownership and never forget to enjoy the ride.

Your responsibilities

Data architecture and modelling Translate business requirements into robust, scalable data models supporting analytics, reporting, and operational use cases. This includes dimensional modelling and snowflake design using fact tables, dimension tables, surrogate keys and slowly changing dimensions.

Data warehouse implementation and orchestration Design and lead data warehouse implementations covering source ingestion, data transformations, business logic, semantic layer automation, scheduling, and deployment.

Data integration Define and support data integrations using REST APIs, OData, and file-based ingestion such as CSV, XML, and JSON, including transparency in data lineage and reference data usage.

Evaluation of data reliability and data quality Diagnose and resolve integration issues across source systems, the data platform, and consuming applications while ensuring data consistency, quality, and traceability.

Database and ETL performance Perform performance tuning, query optimisation, and debugging at the database and ETL level.

Master data and future readinesss Support and integrate Master Data Management initiatives with the data warehouse and prepare data for future ML and AI developments.

Requirements

Do you have experience in XML?, You are a senior hands-on data architect who enjoys working close to the core data platform. You like ownership structure and solving complex puzzles and you understand how good architecture translates into better decisions.

  • Hands-on involvement in system integrations using APIs, OData and file-based ingestion
  • Familiarity with common file ingestion patterns
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modelling and star schemas
  • Proven ability to design fact and dimension models, including hierarchies, surrogate keys and slowly changing dimensions
  • Practical exposure to Master Data Management initiatives
  • Experience integrating data warehouses with MDM solutions
  • Ability to align reference and masterdata across systems
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to haves:

  • Familiar with Power BI or similar analytics tools from a data modelling perspective
