Job description

This is a key technical role responsible for supporting software used within production, resolving issues, gathering insights, and contributing directly to product quality. You'll work closely with engineering teams across the UK and New Zealand, combining technical support, testing, and lightweight software development.

This is a fully onsite position at their Fareham production facility. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support

  • Provide timely and effective software support to internal production teams.
  • Analyse feedback to identify issues, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Diagnose and resolve software-related problems quickly and efficiently.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Develop, run, and maintain test cases to ensure software reliability.
  • Identify, document, and report defects or performance issues.
  • Work collaboratively with developers to improve quality and reduce recurrence of defects.

Software Development

  • Support small-scale development tasks such as bug fixes, code improvements, and feature enhancements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented C++ code.
  • Work alongside other engineers to maintain code standards and consistency.

Technical Documentation

  • Create and update technical documentation including user manuals, data sheets, and internal guides.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with current software versions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional C++ experience.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, tools, and environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with software testing, QA practices, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening hours to collaborate with the New Zealand engineering team.
