Job description

Working closely with key stakeholders and project team members, our Senior IT Project Manager will manage and lead on key Tech Projects and elements within larger projects of work, through the full lifecycle to time, cost and quality.

The primary focus of this role is the management of high profile, business sensitive and complex projects, working closely with business areas and stakeholders towards successful delivery, such as new system implementations, upgrades or updates as well as the implementation of new processes or procedures to assist the utilisation of IT systems.

What you'll do:

  • Manage all aspects of projects through the full lifecycle (e.g. Idea, Initiation, Definition, Build, Test & Live & Closure)
  • Facilitate the collation of requirements and documentation required to initiate the project, working with internal teams and third parties to initiate and run any procurement process.
  • Support the business in the production of a Business Case, ensuring appropriate project sponsorship.
  • Advise the Project Owner/key stakeholders in terms of best practice Project Governance and approach and implement as per agreement.
  • Document and manage as living documents the project plan, PID, issues, actions, risks, and dependencies; holding necessary regular meetings to ensure each are progressed.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the project or programme.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with any third-party suppliers/contractors to ensure they are performing to the expectations of the business with regular contact to review milestones and progress.
  • Manage and report on project finances and forecasting.
  • Facilitate, host, or run (as appropriate) workshops or presentations relevant to the progression of the project.
  • Manage project resource allocation and utilisation with the Business Owner.
  • Work alongside and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders through-out the project, providing decision-making support and rationale where required.
  • Communicate the status of projects to Management and Stakeholders in meetings, chairing where required, and using Management Reporting.
  • Facilitate implementation, transition solutions to relevant teams and conduct Post-Implementation Reviews to capture the knowledge gained through the project to be shared within the business.
  • Work alongside the General Manager - IT Project Office on team initiatives and improvements.
  • Support fellow members of the team and provide guidance as and when required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Project management methodology?, * Extensive experience in a Project Management role

  • Prince2 Practitioner or other appropriate Project Management methodology accredited.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects which incorporate changes across multiple platforms, business areas or systems through the full project lifecycle.
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management and influencing skills, with experience of managing the expectations of customers to board level.
