Job description
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will ensure the organisation's IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and aligned with evolving business needs. You'll provide technical leadership across infrastructure operations and projects, ensuring systems are robust and compliant., * Leading troubleshooting and performance analysis to maintain operational excellence.
- Planning, installing, and maintaining infrastructure components and services.
- Automating provisioning, testing, and deployment through Scripting and configuration tools.
- Managing configuration strategies and championing best practices.
- Supporting technical project workstreams and liaising with third-party suppliers.
- Deploying security measures to maintain compliance with governance frameworks.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining core systems, software, and hardware.
Requirements
- Degree in IT or equivalent experience (QCF Level 6/SQCF Levels 9-10).
- CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
- ITIL practitioner or equivalent experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and project implementation skills in:
- Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, Azure, Entra, Microsoft 365, PowerShell Scripting, Windows Server 2016-2025.
- Networking: Firewalls, Routing, Switching, VLANs, VPN, WAN, Wireless.
- Experience managing infrastructure initiatives and leading workstreams within large-scale projects.
Desirable:
- PRINCE2, CCIE, Microsoft Associate certifications.
- Knowledge of Exchange, Group Policy, Hyper-V, InTune, PKI, Palo Alto, DHCP/DNS, storage solutions (HP 3par, Pure), backup/disaster recovery (Veeam), and security tools (Mimecast).
- Familiarity with Scripting (Bicep, Terraform), Linux OS, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds).

- Ability to manage conflicting demands and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
