Mainframe Storage Engineer

As a Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and secure storage management within our z/OS environment!, As a Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and optimising storage operations within our z/OS environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Administering IBM DS8000 storage systems and ensuring high availability.
• Designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies using GDPS.
• Planning for future storage capacity and performance needs.
• Ensuring data integrity and compliance with security protocols.
• Collaborating with Mainframe and cross-functional IT teams.

• Extensive hands-on experience with IBM DS8000.
• Proven expertise in GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex).
• Strong knowledge of z/OS storage architecture.
• Skills in capacity planning, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with storage security standards.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with migrating Storage infrastructure.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as REXX or Python.

Availability Please note that flexibility to work outside standard business hours is required. Production launches typically occur after 17:00 or on Saturdays, and participation in on-call rotations during nights and weekends is expected.
