Technical Lead IOS (React Native) ESP/POR

We're seeking an experienced iOS Technical Architect with strong architectural instincts and hands-on capability. You will guide a mature iOS engineering organisation as it accelerates delivery, modernises core app architecture, and evaluates hybrid approaches such as React Native and WebViews. You will work embedded with engineering teams, helping define technical strategy, run feasibility spikes, and unlock scalable, maintainable solutions for millions of users. The Impact You'll Make * Lead architectural direction for a large-scale iOS application, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. * Evaluate hybrid

delivery options and guide integration of React Native or WebView-based experiences into an existing Swift codebase. * Provide leadership on modularisation, dependency management, and build performance improvements. * Collaborate with product, engineering leads, and principal engineers to shape the mobile technical roadmap. * Support the introduction of Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns by clarifying what logic should move out of the client. * Mentor iOS engineers and raise technical standards across teams. * Diagnose and resolve complex architectural bottlenecks that affect release velocity, performance, or stability. * Contribute to achieving faster, more efficient release cycles through architectural simplification and modernisation. Technology Stack & Requirements * 8+ years of professional iOS engineering experience with deep expertise in Swift. * Proven experience architecting and scaling large, customer-facing iOS applications. * Strong knowledge of integrating hybrid technologies (React Native, WebViews) into native apps. * Experience with performance optimisation, debugging, and memory management. * Familiarity with CI/CD processes for iOS and how architecture impacts delivery cadence. * Ability to read and refactor legacy code (Objective-C as needed). * Strong understanding of API interaction patterns, including BFF approaches. Bonus Points * Experience blending Swift with hybrid technologies such as React Native. * Prior leadership or mentoring in large engineering environments. * Experience building modularised iOS architectures. * Background in large-scale retail, commerce, or transactional app development.
