Position: Senior Automation Engineer (Kubernetes | Terraform | AWS)Location: Barcelona (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)Seniority Level: Senior EngineerLanguages: English (C1 level required)Sector: Insurance Role Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Engineer with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience indesigning and implementing automation frameworks across cloud and on-prem environments. The ideal candidatewill bring deep technical knowledge in Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and automation best practices, along with theleadership capability to guide a team of developers.This role is ideal for professionals passionate about eliminating repetitive manual processes through intelligentautomation, driving operational efficiency, and setting strategic standards for DevOps and CI/CD practices in moderncloud-native environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of automation solutions across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
- Manage and mentor a team of developers in building scalable automation frameworks.
- Identify and standardize manual processes, converting them into automated workflows with minimal humanintervention.
- Implement automation solutions on AWS, Azure, and on-prem platforms using tools like Kubernetes andTerraform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional development and operations teams to integrate automation intoexisting pipelines.
- Define governance and standards for automation practices across the SDLC.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and resolution of complex system automation issues.
- Stay up to date with emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in cloud automation and DevOps. Required Skills & Experience
Requirements
5-7 years of professional experience in automation engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related roles.
- Proven expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Strong hands-on experience in AWS cloud platform; familiarity with Azure is a plus.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
- Proficient in automation scripting, coding, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in leading technical teams and delivering robust automation strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex distributed systems.
- Fluent in English (C1 level) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Education:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
