Job description

The IFS Tech Support System Engineer is responsible for delivery of IFS application support services to ensure business continuity and performance to external clients.

The role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of our Customer's IFS environments alongside its databases.

Requests can be for support of their test, development and production environments, advice, guidance or request for training, development, reporting, custom configurations, fault resolution and root cause analysis or for specific packages of work.

The role also provides technical support to customers including supporting and developing custom configurations, interfaces, reports and data migration alongside best practice recommendations.

You will work closely with our customers, building trust, delivering value, and providing successful governance.

Main duties and responsibilities:

· Able to inform and advise our customers how to best setup IFS Cloud/Applications on their chosen IT infrastructure/platform.

· Deep knowledge of modern IT architecture and concepts, including containerisation, cloud computing, virtualisation, networking, and IT infrastructure required to assist our customers in the selection and configuration of the technical framework/platform necessary to support their planned use of IFS Cloud/Applications.

· Familiar with varying technologies, including, Oracle Database, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, GIT, Windows/Linux Operating Systems.

· Carry out scheduled and unscheduled out of hours work to support Anthesis and our customers.

· Write reports and detailed instructions on work that is to be carried out or to report on completed work to a high-quality standard.

· Provide assistance to clients as part of Anthesis Support Service

· Work on business development activities

· Submit timely and accurate time reports as required by management.

Complete accurate status reports and follow-up on unresolved issues as requested by management or client.

Other Duties

· Support internal systems/environments as required

· Undertake further training to fulfil the requirements of the role

· Work additional hours to meet the demands of the role

· Attend product functionality briefings & training sessions

· Skill set development, knowledge-sharing & improvements in self and others

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical support?, · Educated to relevant degree level OR equivalent experience

Experience:

· 2+ years as a IFS Support analyst/consultant supporting IFS Applications 9, 10, and IFS Cloud versions from 21R1 Experience in multiple versions would be a major advantage but not essential.

· Previous experience of supporting IFS modules including sales, inventory, distribution, purchasing, HR, payroll, manufacturing, planning & finance modules

· Experience in handling customer issues in a Service Level environment

· Scripting experience (SQL/PowerShell/Bash/Shell)

· Working on ERP system implementations/upgrades either as a vendor or end customer (preferably IFS) would be beneficial.

· 1+ years as a system engineer supporting IFS Applications 9, 10, and IFS Cloud versions from 21R1 Experience in multiple versions would be a major advantage.

· Exposure or experience of setting up and/or supporting an ERP system hosted in the Cloud with services like Azure/AWS and/or On-Premise.

· 1+ years of hands-on DBA experience in Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c; install/patch/maintain/copy/upgrade/backups/DR/etc.

· Scripting experience (SQL/PowerShell/Bash/Shell)

Skills/Knowledge:

· Deep knowledge of IFS - technical and admin including SQL & PL/SQL, user creation, customizations, reporting (Quick Reports, Lobbies, Crystal Report, Information Sources), IFS Print Agents, User Permissions & Security, Touch Apps, IFS Connect, Basic DBA, middleware

· Knowledge of reporting tools e.g. report designer, crystal reports

· Knowledge of system down scenarios

· Knowledge of IFS Framework (F1)

· Proficient in Azure (or AWS) portal setup and configuration

· Knowledge of Kubernetes and other micro-services/containerisation

· Oracle Database Technology and SQL (PL/SQL a bonus)

Latest Windows Operating Systems, and Linux Operating Systems. (Debian based Linux OSes are preferred)

· A high degree of project planning and organizational skills

· MS Office skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint

· Excellent technical aptitude
