Job description
Join the Digital Distribution Live Site team. We are responsible for the provisioning, configuration management and operational running of a number of key public-facing systems supporting many of the best-known BBC offerings.

- Developing and maintaining configuration management scripts and modules using Ansible and Puppet.
- Managing deployments at scale for both on-premise and remote sites
- The issuance, secure handling and deployment of x509 certificates
- Regular collaboration with neighbouring engineering/product groups
- Proactive second line support for a range of systems and application stacks, including participation in an on-call rota.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TCP/IP?, * Expertise in operating and troubleshooting Linux systems and related command-line tooling. Proficiency in Bash and one or more other scripting language e.g. Python
- Experienced in Linux system provisioning, with proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible/Puppet and a solid understanding of deployment practices.
- Awareness of Site Reliability Engineering principles and a willingness to promote these.
- Sound working knowledge of httpd, NGINX, HTTPS, PKI, DNS, TCP/IP (v4 and v6) and Git.
- Preparedness to work in a small team in a high-profile environment with large traffic volumes.
DESIRED:
- Some experience of working with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.
- Comfortable working with older legacy services with minimal documentation if needed
- Rudimentary knowledge of Amazon Web Services
