Job description

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of cloud environments to meet our infrastructure and operational needs. You will leverage your broad T-shaped skills across AWS, Python, CI/CD, and GitLab to drive both technical innovation and operational excellence. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the rollout and enhancement of AWS Landing Zone solutions, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient cloud adoption.

What will you do:

Responsibilities may vary depending on project and team focus, but may include:

  • Design, build, and optimize AWS infrastructure for diverse cloud workloads and migration projects.
  • Create, support and extend developer enablement platforms (e.g. Python) with best practices and innovative tools & solutions.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and modern DevOps practices to allow for faster and more frequent deployments.
  • Collaborate on the ongoing development and implementation of the AWS Landing Zone.
  • Improve platform stability and reduce MTTR for a variety of solutions.
  • Champion observability solutions and operational excellence using modern monitoring and alerting tools with K8s, AWS and Datadog.
  • Establish governance and security best practices for multi-account, multi-user cloud setups.
  • Mentor teams and provide engineering perspective on cloud automation, scaling, and reliability challenges.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Python?, * Deep engineering experience with AWS services, architecture, and automation.

  • Site Reliability Engineering experience and mindset to improve technical platforms and engineering communities.
  • Experience running business critical applications and middleware.
  • Automation skills, with a track record in cloud automation and tooling.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with GitLab pipelines.
  • Demonstrated exposure to monitoring, observability, and operational best practices (such as ELK, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar).
  • Proven ability to implement and scale AWS Landing Zone solutions or similar multi-account cloud environments.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with development, operations, and architecture teams.
  • Self-starting, proactive approach to problem-solving and driving continuous improvement.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MS Azure Landing Zones and Entra ID
  • Python programming skills or senior level skills in at least one OOP language.
