Senior Digital Architecture Consultant

We are supporting a flagship UK defence programme focused on building capability. We are looking for a senior, hands-on architecture consultant who understands how modern defence architectures are built, integrated, and evolved.

This role is about architectural truth and delivery readiness.

You will assess the current architecture, understand the products and platforms in play, and determine whether the programme is genuinely set up for success. From there, you will help shape the right development path, ensuring architectural coherence, delivery realism, and alignment to operational outcomes.

This is not a theoretical EA role it requires hands-on understanding of systems, products, and integration in a fast-moving, multi-vendor defence environment.

Key Responsibilities

• To analyse and document as-is architecture across systems, data, integration, and deployment

• To assess whether the current architecture and delivery approach are fit for purpose

As a Pigment Senior Digital Architecture Consultant you will provide clear, evidence-based views on:

• Architectural gaps and risks
• Integration readiness
• Scalability and delivery viability
• Advise on target architecture direction and development sequencing
• Ensure alignment across sensors, C2 systems, data platforms, AI/ML components, and edge compute
• Act as a trusted technical authority, bridging delivery teams, architects, and senior stakeholders
• Support coherence across a multi-vendor, open-framework environment

• Strong background in digital/solution/systems architecture within defence or similarly complex domains
• Hands-on understanding of products, platforms, and system integration (not just frameworks)
• Experience assessing as-is estates and shaping credible future-state architectures

Familiarity with:

• C2 systems, ISR, data integration, or mission systems
• Modern digital delivery approaches in secure environments
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-evolving programmes
• Able to challenge constructively and provide clear, pragmatic guidance
• Experience on large, multi-vendor defence programmes
• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems, edge compute, or Real Time data environments
• Background in operationally critical or time-sensitive system

Active SC Clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of this project and urgent deployment required
