Pigment Consulting partner with complex, highly regulated organisations to design and deliver technology strategies that actually work in the real world. We operate where security, scale, and delivery pressure collide, helping clients create coherence across fragmented digital landscapes.
We are urgently seeking an experienced Enterprise Architecture Lead to help establish and mature the clients enterprise architecture function.
This role sits at the strategic junction between business and technology. You will act as a technology leader, peer, and coach, providing clarity and coherence across enterprise architecture, secure cloud, and digital delivery.
You will set direction, define standards, and ensure alignment across a complex, multi-national technology estate.
This is a leadership role for someone who can see the whole system, challenge constructively, and bring structure to ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and shape an Enterprise Architecture capability, including ways of working, standards, and governance
- Drive coherence across the technology stack, ensuring architectural consistency across:
- Secure cloud and compute platforms
- Digital factory and software engineering approaches
- Enterprise and business systems
- Advise on strategic technology choices, including:
- Platform and tooling selection
- Cloud strategy and deployment models
- Where to build bespoke digital workflows vs adopting off-the-shelf solutions
- Appropriate use of agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
- Bridge business operations, procurement, and technology teams to ensure decisions are commercially, operationally, and technically sound
- Navigate multi-country governance, security constraints, and cultural differences within a regulated environment
- Act as a senior technical peer - providing guidance, coaching, and challenge to existing technology and delivery leadership
Experience & Skills Required
- Senior experience in Enterprise Architecture or technology leadership roles
- Defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated sectors
- Secure cloud and enterprise compute environments
- Software engineering standards and development governance
- Digital delivery models (agile, waterfall, hybrid)
- Proven background in large, complex, highly regulated organisations
- Comfortable operating in secure environments with strong governance constraints
- Able to engage confidently with senior business, technology, and procurement stakeholders
- Pragmatic, outcome-focused, and comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
- Strong ability to bridge strategy and execution
- Experience shaping or scaling enterprise architecture functions
- Exposure to data platforms, digital factories, or advanced analytic environments
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape enterprise-level technology direction
You will work alongside strong commercial and delivery teams who need technical leadership and coherence
This is a long-term engagement potential within a critical digital transformation programme
This is an inside IR35 role
Active SC is also required due to the sensitivity/nature of the role
