Senior Data Engineer

Overview We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer specializing in Starburst (Trino) and Dell Data Lakehouse to join our AI & Data team. You will be responsible for deploying, maintaining and optimizing Starburst installations & Dell Data Lakehouse, enabling our clients to seamlessly access their data across multiple platforms. The Role * Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain Starburst Enterprise / Galaxy and Dell Data Lakehouse environments for reliable, high-performing operation. * Fine-tune server, application, and container settings to support scalability and smooth performance. * Integrate Starburst with multiple data sources and set up data catalogues across different modes. * Implement strong security measures, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure alignment with data governance requirements. * Work with support and vendor teams while troubleshooting issues, resolving incidents, and providing thorough root-cause analysis. Strong background in distributed data systems, including Starburst / Trino administration, Kubernetes / OpenShift, and Big Data / cloud platforms. * Solid Unix / Linux skills with experience in security frameworks (LDAP, AD, OAuth2, Kerberos) and connectivity standards like JDBC / ODBC. * Understanding of high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and containerised infrastructure design. * Experience with automation and programming tools such as Ansible, Python, or Java. * Familiarity with data lakehouse environments, data pipelines, data federation, and AI / ML data requirements.
