Linux Systems Engineer

• Deploy new tools, with a focus on automation and security
• Maintain and update existing environments; proactively troubleshoot issues
• Help out with operational inquiries from colleagues
• Suggest and implement improvements
• Research, test, and recommend new technologies to improve our set of tools and workflows

• Solid knowledge of Linux distributions (ideally Debian/AlmaLinux) and their core components (iptables, systemd, kernel, unix tools)
• Hands-on experience with popular open-source technologies such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, Docker, Git Familiar with configuration management tools (Ansible)
• Skilled in scripting (Go, Python, PHP and a pinch of Perl)
• Basic networking knowledge
• Passionate about technology, eager to learn, and always curious
• You are proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented-able to take ownership and work independently in a dynamic environment
• Strong focus on security
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal

The Tooling team maintains a set of tools and services, used by the infra/ops and software dev teams. This includes platforms such as: * Gitlab * Harbor (container registry) * Monitoring suite: Nagios, Thruk, SNClient * Grafana * Sentry * HCP Vault * Opensearch We are looking for someone to set-up and maintain these environments, together with the existing Tooling team.
